No Bugs in the teeth

I believe in the importance of wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle. I'm reminded of it everytime I have to clean off the bugs from the face shield! No bugs in my teeth unless I put them there!!

The boy has graduated!

Ding-dong high-school is done – for our son Derek! The party was great except we didn’t have food left over at the end! I hope everyone got enough to eat. Last time (for Emily) we ordered too much and this time not quite enough so maybe we’ll get it just right for baby bear Dalend! (If he reads that he will punch me!)

The yard and house were all in order and the weather was great! Not too hot and not rainy – thank you, God. I recommend having a graduation party at your house if you want to get things done! Man, I did more in the few weeks be for Memorial Day weekend than I’ve done in the year before! I also don’t recommend having a party at your place because it causes a lot of headaches, heated discussions and lost sleep. So how is THAT for being wishy-washy!

Either way we are proud of Derek for making it through without getting arrested or blowing anything or himself up. I think he has made a good impact on others around him and I think he has matured a bunch in the last few years. He will be at Spring Valley Bible Camp as a counselor this summer and then will be jumping into college at ISU this fall like he jumped into Muscatine High School 4 years ago. I remember how he was excited about going to high school – no fear, no worries.

If you would like, look him up and drop him a line. (Find him in facebook: http://www.facebook.com/srch.php?nm=Derek+Pearson) Pray that he is able to enjoy college WHILE STILL getting the studies and learning done! He is planning at this point to major in Kinesiology. He is not exactly sure what job he wants with that, but most that he sees are what he would love to do! When I tell people what his major is, if they give me a blank look, I tell them it is the study of moving objects with your mind. (THAT of course is actually telekinesis, which only sounds a bit like kinesiology!) 8-)
